Restaurant Au P'tit Max Place D'armes
Disappointed
Do not be misled by the 8.5 Stars, nor by the image. First the tableclothes in the styles image do not exist. Tables are baren, only the corner tables have tableclothes, which did not help meet the expected atmosphere. Service was good at the start, attentive, but waned with increasing numbers of occupied tables. The dinner menu of 31 euros appears good value for money, and certainly has three courses, but is it good ? We had three different dishes: the rumpsteak of lamb ( I though rumpsteak is beef, but Max knows better), a sea bream and - from the regular menu - a cordon bleu. The lamb was good meat, but served purely on a bed of beans, that's all, just beans, plemty of them. The seabream was not well cooked ( and I even doubt is was a bream , as the filet of the fish was far too thick to be from this otherwise slim fish - looked more like cod), and the cordon bleu was really hard. None of us finished our plate. The acid test is, would I go again ? I am afraid not.
